Thank you all for such an amazing first year in Moab! I feel so much pride in our school community and the commitment that we all share in making HMK a place where every student can be successful. As the school year draws to an end, we encourage students and families to finish strong. Testing season can be a stressful time for both students and teachers, so let's rally around them, and provide students and teachers alike with everything they need to feel confident in doing well. I look forward to another great school year here at HMK and I wish everyone a happy and relaxing summer break!

As a district, we are improving our safety and wellbeing practices K-12. One crucial improvement strategy is to implement an online reporting system in which students and parents can report incidents of bullying and harassment. While we have always encouraged students, parents and guardians to report these sorts of incidents, this online form is intended to encourage, normalize and ease the reporting process so that we can ensure the safety and well being of all students. Police received a report of a possible threat to a Grand County School. The incident has been investigated and resolved. Students and staff were held in place in classrooms, offices, etc., for a brief time during the investigation by law enforcement.
The investigation found that the incident resulted from a joke made by a student, and the threat was not credible. The hold-in-place order has been lifted and investigators determined that there is no danger to students and staff.
