Subject line: IMPORTANT UPDATE: New State Rule for Kindergarten Start Date
Dear Kindergarten Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of an important update regarding the start of the school year for our Kindergarten students.
HMK was just informed of a new state rule requiring all Kindergarten students to begin on the first day of school. As a result, any communication you previously received in the mail about your child’s Kindergarten schedule is now void. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and flexibility.
Please take note of the following updated schedule:
First Week of School: August 14th - August 20th
School Start Time: 8:15 am
School End Time: 11:00 am
*School will resume a regular schedule starting on August 21st from 8:15 - 2:15.
Students will have the opportunity to eat a sack lunch or bring lunch from home during our modified first week schedule.
We will also be hosting a Kindergarten Back to School Night on August 12th from 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm. Parents will have a short informational session in the Library beginning at 5:15 and will have the opportunity to visit classrooms and meet teachers from 5:45 - 6:15. You will also need to schedule a one-to-one meet and greet and testing session with your child's teacher during this time.
