GCSD currently has had 10 staff members and 8 students test positive at Grand County High School, and 3 teachers and 4 students test positive at HMK. We are unable to provide substitutes for this many staff members. We will be cancelling school and any after-school activities for Grand County High School next week from Tuesday, Sept. 7-10. All athletics and/or after-school events both on and off campus are also cancelled. Custodians will be doing a deep cleaning during this time. If we need to cancel classes at Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School or Helen M. Knight Elementary, we will send out a notification of that in a later message. The Health Department, Moab Regional Hospital, County Commission, and Grand County School District are putting in place a mandatory mask mandate beginning next Wednesday, Sept. 8 for PreK-12 for 30 days. This includes all students, staff, volunteers, and parents, regardless of vaccination. Grand County High School will resume classes on Monday, Sept. 13.
