Dear Parents/Guardians of HMK Students,
HMK will begin on September 8 for all students in grades 3 through 6. These students will begin school like every other year, all coming on the first day of school.
For students who are in grades 1 and 2, the school will begin a little differently so that we can teach procedures to our younger learners and allow them to understand how the day will look different this year.
Students in grades 1 and 2, only with the last name A through L will begin school September 8.
Students with the last name beginning with M through Z will not attend on September 8
Students in grades 1 and 2, only with the last name beginning with M through Z will begin September 9.
Students with the last name beginning with A through L will not attend on September 9.
All students in grades 1 and 2 will attend on September 10.
Kindergarten students with the last name beginning with the letter A through L will begin September 14.
Kindergarten students with the last name beginning with the letter M through Z will begin September 15.
All Kindergarten students will attend on September 16.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Parents will not be allowed to enter the school building on the first day. Please understand that we are doing this as a health precaution for our students and staff. Teachers will be meeting students on the designated playground with signs, so students know where to line-up. HMK will not hold its annual Back to School Night due to COVID restrictions as well.
If you have not registered your student for school, registration is due by September 8. If your child has previously attended a grand county school, you must register your child as an existing student. Parents of incoming kindergartners must also bring in a birth certificate and updated immunization records to the K-3 office.
